Elections take hard work by many people

To the Editor:

The Moffat County Clerk's Office would like to thank the community for such a great voter turnout. The local media did a great job of encouraging people to get out and vote.

Thank you election judges! We had 20 election judges who do a thankless job for us every election. We appreciate all of their hard work and diligence. It was a long day for all.

Everyone's patience was appreciated. When you have new laws, such as the I.D. requirement, we expect the wait to be a little longer. We do encourage everyone to read the material such as the Tabor Notice we send out and the blue book because all the information as to where to vote is included, as well as issue information.

Don't forget, early voting takes place 10 days before the election in the clerk's office. At that time, you can vote in the office or take the ballot home and return it to us. It is a great advantage to avoid the long lines at the polling place.

I would also like to personally thank our office staff for the hard work they do prior to the election, during and after. You are all so polite and helpful and I appreciate all of you.

We are a great team.

Elaine Sullivan,

Moffat County Clerk
