Craig resident Paul Amos Perez Sr. died Oct. 25, 2003, at his home. He was 54.
Perez was born Nov. 29, 1948, in Salt Creek, Colo., to Joe and Ruth (Peralta) Perez.
Perez was raised and attended school in and around Pueblo. He married Margaret Flick on March 10, 1967, in Pueblo. They made their home there and for a short time in Denver prior to moving to Craig in 1977. Perez had worked for the Colorado Department of Transportation as a utility worker II. He later became disabled and was unable to work the past few years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and tinkering in his garage.
Perez is survived by his wife, Margaret Perez, of Craig; daughter, Mary (Lance) Hammond, of Craig; son, Paul (Stephanie) Perez Jr., of Craig; grandchildren Saraya and Camaron Hammond, and Kyle, Cole, and Kincaid Perez; and numerous brothers, sisters, and other relatives.
Perez was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Sintas, and a son, David John Perez.
