Palisade, Colo., resident Raymond G. Holland died May 18, 2003, at the Palisade Living Center. He was 80.
Holland was born Feb. 28, 1923, in Erie, Pa. He was raised and attended school in Erie. He served in the U.S. Army at the end of WWII. He married Evelyn Hagberg in the early 1940s in Erie, and to this union, four boys and one girl were born. They were later divorced.
Holland worked as an over-the-road truck driver on the East Coast for many years. He married Maggie Hilton in New Port Richey, Fla., in 1978. They lived in Florida and Arizona before moving to Craig in 2000.
Holland enjoyed motorcycling and had many memorable trips on his motorcycle. He had resided at the Palisade Living Center for the past six months.
Holland is survived by his wife, Maggie, of Craig; daughter, Lisa Holland, of St. Petersburg, Fla; sons, Richard (Rachel) Holland, of Littleton, Colo., James (Donna) Holland, of Littleton, Colo. and David (Becky) Holland, of Mt. Joy, Pa.; 15 grand children, numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Fukui, of Florida and brother, Richard Holland, of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ralph.
Services were May 21, 2003, at Grant Mortuary Chapel with James Holland officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were all Holland's many friends.
