Grand Junction, Colo., resident Iva Bessie Gollan died April 27, 2003, at Mesa Manor Nursing Home. She was 75.
Gollan was born Oct. 19, 1927, in Mason City, Iowa, to Earl and Lottie Mae (Barnett) Farlow. She was raised in Iowa, Washington and New Mexico and graduated from high school in Winterset, Iowa. She married Robert D. Gollan on July 19, 1948, in Deming, N.M. They lived in Deming, New Mexico, Denver, Baily, Colo., Port Orchard, Wash., California and Hayden before moving to Grand Junction in 1992.
Gollan loved to create with fabric and made more than 50 quilts, dozens of hand-sewn dolls and other home decorating items. She also loved to cook and took great pleasure in helping neighbors and friends.
Gollan is survived by her daughters Barbara Lynn (Dave) Seed, of Craig, and Rhonda Jean Cox, of Grand Junction; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters Mary Phillips, of Winterset; Pauline Brooks, of Onekama, Mich.; and Ruth Condon, of San Bernadino, Calif.; and brother, Carl Farlow, of Tacoma, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert D. Gollan and sons Richard David and Michael Anthony.
