Annual spring cleanup this weekend

Craig's annual spring cleanup is slated for this weekend, as crews at the north end of Craig City Park will haul away unwanted items.

But not just any items.

"We'll accept tires, appliances, white goods of any kind," said Randy Call, the city of Craig's Road and Bridge/Solid Waste director. "But we're not accepting any trash."

Items will be taken from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

There are no fees associated with the service, Call said.

Call said refrigerators and freezers would be accepted regardless whether Freon has been removed.

The discarded tires must be removed from wheels, he said.

The city, at its expense, will haul items to the Moffat County Landfill. Call said the city accepted more than 500 appliances and some 5,000 tires in last May's cleanup.

Questions on this weekend's cleanup can be forwarded to the city's Road and Bridge Department at 824-4463.
