Golf tournament for hospital funds tees off on Friday


Revenues from the Tee it Up Golf Tournament benefiting The Memorial Hospital of Craig Foundation, will eventually be used to open the new hospital.

"The board is working on a site right now," Pam Thompson, communities relations director for The Memorial Hospital.

Eighty-eight people were signed up to participate in the tournament Tuesday afternoon but the hospital is hoping for about 120 people by the time the tournament


"I play because it is a good time and a great fund-raising function," said Kyle Miller, pharmacy director for TMH.

Tee time is 2 p.m. Friday, with each of the participants

engaging in the contests as they get to the holes where the contests are going on.

Contests include:

  • Longest Drive for men and women on the hole No. 18
  • Closest to the pin for men on hole No. 16 and closest to the pin for women on hole No. 11
  • Win a Sleeve of Balls on Hole No. 7
  • Cook Chevrolet is sponsoring the hole-in-one car on hole No. 4
  • Chipping contest
