Craig resident Donald Ray Pearson died May 2, 2003, at Valley View Manor. He was 68.
Pearson was born March 7, 1935, in Naples, Utah, to Charles Thomas and Anna Marie (Hall) Pearson. He was raised in Naples and Rifle, Colo., later moving to Craig where he graduated from high school in 1953.
He married Myrna L. Stagner on Oct. 29, 1955, in Clayton, N.M.
Stagner was a carpenter and built homes when he was younger, he also worked in the oil fields. He and Myrna have lived in Craig most of their married life, except for a short period when they lived in Baggs, Wyo.
He enjoyed hunting , fishing and breaking and riding horses. He also enjoyed being in the mountains. He spent much time building furniture and was a former member of the National Rifle Association.
Pearson is survived by his wife, Myrna; daughters, Kim (Dan) Kavanagh, of Herriman, Utah and Melissa (Daniel) Werth, of Gillette, Wyo.; sons Brett (Angela) Pearson, of Gillette, Wyo., and Terry (Sheryl) Pearson, of West Jordan, Utah; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Tom Pearson, of Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services were May 6, 2003, with David Ellgen officiating. Selections were "That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine," "Amazing Grace," "Angel Band" and "Go Rest High on the Mountain."
Honorary pallbearers were Terry Pearson, Dan Kavanagh, Tyrel Pearson, James Pettit, Jason Roper, Brett Pearson, Daniel Werth, Seth Pearson, Chris Bowles, Jason Ritter and Chris Barnett.
Services concluded at the mortuary.
