The 28-rodeo regular season concluded this weekend in Rocky Ford for the Moffat County High School rodeo team. In the three-day event ,the MoCo team had five individuals finish in the top-10 in 17 events.
Tia Brannan, Kelly White and Becky White each scored points in four events.
Brannan picked up a fifth in barrel racing and an eighth in breakaway roping on Saturday as well as a 10th in barrels and a first in goat tying on Sunday.
Results on the Colorado State High School Rodeo Association have not been updated for two weeks, but with her first-place finish on Monday and two top 10 finishes last week in Monte Vista, the sophomore added 17 points to her fourth-place total of 83.5 points in
Kelly White finished fifth in barrel racing and third in pole bending on Friday. She added a seventh place in barrels on Saturday and a second in the same event on Sunday. The sophomore has had two wins in barrels the last two weekends and was sitting in fifth place in the state in that event before those top finishes.
Becky White continued her run as one of the top rookies in the state with a seventh place in barrels, and eighth place in goats and a fourth in breakaway roping Friday. Saturday the freshman finished ninth in barrels. At the latest update, White was the highest overall Moffat County wrangler, sitting in seventh. The last two weeks she added 41 points to her overall total.
Chelsey Schnackenberg placed in all three pole-bending competitions with a 10th-place finish Friday, sixth place on Saturday and an eighth place on Monday. Schnackenberg has now finished in the top 10 in pole bending in five of the last six runs. She was in 10th place overall at the time of the last standings update.
The final placer for Moffat County was Nikki Keen. She took eighth in breakaway roping Friday and ninth in pole bending on Sunday.
The next rodeo for the CSHSRA is state at the Larimer County Farigrounds June 17-21.
