Community leaders gathered together Thursday to celebrate the 25th birthday of Moffat County United Way.
But it was more than just a birthday party.
The Moffat County United Way proved once again that through area businesses and residents, it can bring in the kind of green that make other communities green with envy.
The year of 2002 was another record-breaking year with United Way collecting more than $335,000.
We believe that a community is more than just a sum of its parts. It can be defined in a multitude of ways and its generosity is certainly one of those ways.
With an uncertain economy and state and federal governments tightening their belts, the United Way is going to become more important than ever.
Those who support United Way, which supports organizations such as Moffat County Partners, Advocates-Crisis Support Group and the Northwest Colorado Dental Coalition, are going to be needed more than ever.
We encourage residents and business to keep the United Way in mind as we continue 2003 gets into full swing and the organization gears up for its annual fund-raising campaign.
We congratulate United Way's officers and their contributors on another outstanding year and wish them continued success.
