To the Editor:
Well, what a surprise only one application for the county's EMS coordinator position.
The posting for the job was written to ensure that only one person could qualify. The Western Moffat County residency requirement made all the EMTs from the Craig service ineligible, and the instructor requirement made all other EMTs from Maybell ineligible.
Why is it so important that this job be filled prior to the new commissioner taking office?
If this position is truly needed, it should be posted again to ensure that the most qualified person gets the job. Most of the EMTs in Craig are trained to the intermediate level.
If you are truly looking to provide the best service to the Maybell residents they should not be excluded from the pool of possible employee candidates.
