Daniel Vincet McDiffett, died Dec. 15, 2003, at The Memorial Hospital, in Craig, following a long illness. He was 35.
McDiffett was born April 3, 1968, at St. Francis Hospital, in Topeka, Kan., to Robert and Susan (Kelly) McDiffett.
McDiffett was quite a sportsman when he was little. He loved to go fishing and hunting. He was quite a worker, working with grandma and grandpa at an early age, laying sod, digging weeds, and wished that he was old enough to help grandpa mow. He was grandpa's shadow, and had quite a personality at a young age and kept his family laughing. When McDiffett was in 8th grade, his family moved to Craig, where he acquired many friends easily because of his personality and smile. As his illness took more and more of him, his interests changed to sports -- he loved the Avalanche and also wanted to attend a game.
He was also the weatherman for his mom. People meant the world to McDiffett. He loved to have a crowd around him. It always brightened his day. His friends always felt that they had a safe haven at his house, whenever they had no place to go.
He always provided food, clothes, and shelter for them when they needed it without asking for anything in return.
McDiffett is survived by his mom, Susan (Ron) Spencer, of Craig; his dad, Robert (Elaine) McDiffett, of Wamego, Kan.; his brothers John (Cassia) McDiffett, and Rusty McDiffett; his step-sisters Ronnie (Dwayne) Parker, Donna Boyle, Debbie Boyle, and Doris (Danny) Rollo; nieces Jaci and Kelsey McDiffett, Kyrah Gelvin, Tiara Boyle; and nephew, Ben Rollo.
