Marvin E. Runyan, of Craig, Colo., died July 4, 2003, at Yampa Valley Medical Center. He was 75.
Runyan was born Feb. 25, 1928, in Hay Springs, Neb., to Elmer and Eleanor Runyan. He was the oldest of three boys.
Runyan met Roberta Kuskie in Grant, and they married Oct. 2, 1951. He served in the U. S. Army from 1950 to 1952 as a medic, and was stationed in Korea during the Korean War. Runyan worked in the oil field early in his marriage and moved a lot following the work. He and his wife settled in Craig in 1956. He was a partner in Auto Radiator Service and Craig Lanes. He also worked for the highway department.
He enjoyed playing golf, his grandchildren, and going south for the winter.
Runyan is survived by his sons Randy and family, and Michael and family; a daughter, Rhonda Stehle and family; four grandchildren; brothers Delbert Runyan, of Crawford, and Don Runyan, of Sedona, Mo.
Runyan was preceded in death by his wife; parents; son, Kelly Montel; and granddaughter, Rachel Runyan.
Memorial services were held July 12, 2003, at Calvary Baptist Church with his nephew Ron Hackel officiating.
