Budget Center seeking supplies

The Community Budget Center has received only one bag of school supplies as of Thursday afternoon for it's annual drive to collect school supplies for the Moffat County School District.
That number is down from last year when they collected 300 pounds by the time school started.
The center has not yet extended the deadline for donations but may if the donations continue to be sluggish.
"We really need more donations," said Karen Brown of the Community Budget Center, who added that she had no idea why there are hardly any donations this year. "People in this community will wait for the last minute."
The center has more money this year than last because an auction held in July went so well, Brown said.
In a continuation of a trend that started last year when donations were down from the year before, this is one of the worst years for contributions.
"We need a whole lot more than what we've gotten," Brown said.
But, according to Brown, the Community Budget Center has done the same amount of advertising.
"I think that people know we do this," Brown said.
