Episcopal Church made wrong decision

To the Editor:

According to an Associated Press news release, the Episcopal Church has now put a gay bishop into leadership. This sodomite (homosexual) man is in a position which will now exercise great authority. The Episcopal Church is wrong in allowing this, because the Bible speaks against it and calls it sin. The Bible is right.

According to God's Word, homosexuality, or sodomy, is a very serious sin. In the Old Testament God says, "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind; it is abomination." Leviticus 18:22. He further condemns it in chapter 20, verse 13. "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death;..."

God repeats His warnings in the New Testament in Romans 1:26,27. "For this cause God gave them up to vile affections; for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature; and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly,..."

The sodomite must admit that he is what God says he is -- a sinner -- and realize that God hates his sin and must punish it. Then he must believe that Jesus Christ paid for his sins on the cross of Calvary, be willing to turn from his sins, and receive Jesus Christ as his personal saviour. After having taken Christ as Lord and Saviour, the homosexual will have experienced the joy of sins forgiven, a new life in Christ, and will quit his gay lifestyle.

God offers salvation not only to sodomites, but to all who receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" John 1:12
