Maybell resident Hazel M. Walker died March 30, 2003, at The Memorial Hospital. She was 83.
Walker was born on March 25, 1920, in Myton, Utah, to William and Ella (Potter) Carr. She grew up in the Browns Park area and attended school in Ladore and then in Vernal, Utah, where she graduated from high school. She married Elbert Walker on Nov. 21, 1946, in Craig.
They lived in Pinedale, Wyo., for many years during the summer months and in the Phoenix, Ariz., area in the winter as she followed her husband in his ranching occupation. Walker has resided in Maybell for the past 14 years. She enjoyed doing puzzles, latchhooking rugs, embroidery, playing the keyboard and she was especially fond of her cats, horses and cows.
Walker is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Rocky Carr, Dawn Nottingham and Georgia McIntyre and their families of Maybell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 14 brothers and sisters and her husband Elbert in 1994.
At her request, no services were held.
