Dorothy J. Lyons of Grand Junction passed away Nov. 13, 2002 at Mantey Heights Rehab and Care Center. She was 70.
Dorothy was born Jan. 9, 1932 to Harry F. and Pearl Louden Salter at St. Paul, Neb. She spent her childhood in Central Nebraska. She graduated from high school in Craig, Colo and attended Barnes Business College in Denver.
On July 15, 1950, she married Marvin "Corky" Lyons in Glenwood Springs, Colo.
She worked as an administrative assistant at Colorado National Bank and Mesa National Bank. She lived in Glenwood Springs for 25 years and San Luis Valley for six years before moving to Grand Junction 18 years ago.
She was a member of the Methodist Church and ALTRUSA International. She loved to garden and play the organ.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin "Corky" Lyons of Grand Junction; sons, Mark (Brenda) Lyons of Phoenix, Ariz., Kirk Lyons of Wheatridge, Colo.; daughter, Terri (Tom) Smedra of Aurora, Colo.; sister, Edna (Bob) Thompson of Laramie, Wyo. and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.
Memorial services were held Monday, Nov. 18, 2002 at Crossroads United Methodist Church with Dr. Wesley W. Kendall officiating.
