Mayor thanks city, county for service to community

To the Editor:

James Taylor is playing on the stereo and I am transported to a place of peace and solitude. In times like these it's good to reflect on what we have and who we are and that is the intent of this letter to the editor.

Last weekend many of the residents of Craig and Moffat County experienced the reason we live in a small community as they brought old tires and refrigerators to the city park to be disposed of for free.

What a sight to see people helping others unload tires and appliances in a community spirit, and the cleaning of the surrounding county that was accomplished is priceless.

So a word of thanks to those that make these kind of things possible. Thanks to the Solid Waste Department and the Road and Bridge Department for the long hours they worked and the many people they helped.

Thanks for the idea of giving the community the option to dispose of these eyesores and make our city and county a more appealing place to live.

And thanks to the county for taking all of the tires and disposing of them.

A very special thanks to Intermountain Appliance for giving the city such a good rate on the recovery of the refrigerant in the old refrigerators. Your help is greatly appreciated, and trust me, I know what a good rate that the city was charged for this service.

So, after all of that, don't you love to live in a place like Craig?
