The Craig Fire Department will outline its rational Thursday for a proposed mill levy increase.
The presentation concerning the future needs of Craig Fire/Rescue will be from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Craig fire station on Yampa Avenue.
Operation and maintenance costs, possible future staffing and projects will be some of the issues discussed.
The Craig Rural Fire District will be asking for an increase of approximately 2.6 mills $550,000 in the special district election May 7.
The Craig Rural Fire District currently has a budget of $420,000 funded by 1.997 mills.
"This presentation is to explain why we are asking for the increase," Craig Fire Chief Roy Mason said.
"We want to present our needs and explain them at the same time we want to educate everyone on the issues."
The issue of the mill increase is the only question for voters for the May election.
