Friday night at Delta the Lady Bulldogs stayed inside - inside the paint.
Led by the two senior post players, Jessica Norman and Katie Telfer, the Lady Bulldogs dismantled the Delta Lady Panthers 64-35, with 40 of the Lady Bulldogs points coming in the two opening periods.
In the first two quarters Norman and Telfer combined for 24 points, and by the end of the night the duo combined for 31 total.
"The girls were just open all night in the inside, plus the had a lot of transition baskets," Mortensen said. "The inside wasn't the only place that produced for us, really we did what we wanted to against Delta."
The game opened up with the 40 point first half, while the Lady 'Dogs held Delta (2-7) to 12.
In the second half, with Mortensen calling off the full-court-press, the Lady Panthers got back into the game - though to late.
The Lady Panthers scored 23 points to the Lady Bulldogs 24 in the final two quarters.
"It was really my fault that Delta got back in the game in the second," Mortensen said. "We stuck in a bunch of our JV players, and went into a looser defense - but we were to far ahead at the time."
