VFW convention may be headed to Craig


If Craig resident Charley Watkins gets what he wants, Craig may become the home for the 2003 VFW State Convention.

Watkins will present a letter of support to the Craig City Council at tonight's 7:30 p.m. meeting at City Hall.

The Council will hear a number of issues, including:

The renewal of a tavern liquor license for the Popular Bar, Inc. at 24 W. Victory Way. No cause is shown for denial.

A request from Moffat County for matching funds for a grant for the Craig/Moffat County Airport.

Consider a conditional use permit for a 500-gallon propane dispensing station for B&B Welding Supply, Inc. at 124 W. 4th St.

Hold a public hearing to consider the approval of a plat for a minor subdivision and a zone change to be known as the Theaman Minor Subdivision owned by Frank J. and Kay M. Theaman.

Hear ordinance no. 910, amending the zoning map of the City of Craig from L-1 to R-3 on that portion of Lot 3, which is currently zoned L-1.

Award a bid for concession services for the Parks and Recreation Department.

Award a bid to purchase a multi-deck rotary mower for the Parks and Recreation Department.

Award a bid to purchase and install two Reznor Heaters for the Parks shop.

Hear Ordinance no. 909 regarding a supplemental appropriation to amend the 2001 Budget.

Hear consideration and possible action on purchase of water distribution parts.

Hear the approval of an Improvments agreement for Casa De Chupita Inc. mini-storage for the completion of paving, landscaping and automatic irrigation of the property.

Hear the year end report from Finance Director Bruce Nelson.
