Accident kills Craig woman

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS A little more than four hours after authorities started to crack down on drunken drivers Friday night, a 46-year-old Craig woman was killed in a one-car accident authorities believe is alcohol related.

Sherry Larine Silver died after her red truck went off the side of the road and crashed into a tree at about 10:30 p.m. six miles west of Hayden on U.S. 40.

Silver was traveling westbound in her 1986 Ford F-150 truck when she drove off the right side of the road, hit a gate post, then a street lamp and then a large tree at about milepost 101, said State Trooper Brad Keadle, who is investigating the crash.
