Four vie for three Council seats

Petitions have been returned and verified by City Clerk Shirley Seeley and one petition made the difference between the city holding an election and cancelling it.

Russ Gaylord will face incumbents Natalie Alden, Bill Johnston and Don Jones for the three open Craig City Council seats. The three highest vote-getters at the April 3 election will take office and serve four-year terms.

Gaylord has lived in Craig for several years, moving here from Arizona. He came to Craig to run Roto Rooter plumbing service. He has since passed the business to his son, and now installs carpet.

Chris Rothermund and his wife, Kimberly Sanchez-Rothermund picked up nomination packets for the seats of mayor and Council member respectively, but did not return them before the March 3 deadline. The result is that Mayor Dave DeRose will run unopposed for another two-year term.
