Helen Henrietta Perry
Former Craig resident Helen Henrietta Perry died on July 7, 2001 at the Horizons Care Center at Eckert, Colo. She was 89.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at the Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Rod Compton officiating. Pallbearers were Jim C. Perry, Darel Crawford, Jack Keir, Jim Warren, John Zimmerman and Don Laib.
Interment followed at the Craig Cemetery.
Perry was born on Jan. 5, 1912, in Deerfield, Kan., to Henry and Elisa Coerber. She attended elementary schools in Coaldale, Colo., and Springer, N.M., high school in Cotapoxi, Colo., and Barnes Business College in Witchita, Kan.
She received a Bible award from Moody Bible Institute Correspondence School.
On Dec. 21, 1934, she married James Richard Perry. They were blessed with four sons. For 61 years she was a loving wife, mother and homemaker.
James died Dec. 10, 1995.
Perry was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and served in various capacities including Sunday school teacher and pianist. Her hobbies included cooking, playing all kinds of games, reading the Bible, playing the piano/organ, gardening and visiting with her four sons and their families.
Helen is survived by her four sons, LeRoy and his wife Toloa of Cazenovia, N.Y., Bill of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Ron and his wife Ann of Cedaredge, Colo., and David and his wife Marilynn of Peoria, Ill.; five granddaughters, Tanya, Heather, and Chileen Perry, Sondra DiGrazia and husband Lou, and Tricia Sickmeier and husband John; four grandsons, Jim, Phillip, Scott, and David Perry; and three great grandchildren, David and Elizabeth DiGrazia, and Nathan Sickmeier.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Evelyn Crawford.
