Dale C. Brannan<.B>
Dale C. Brannan of Maybell, Colo., died at Valley View Manor, March 17, 2000. He was 86.
On May 24, 1913, in Wauneta, Neb., he was born the son of Homer and Alice J. (DeGarmo) Brannan. When he was 8 years old, they moved to Colorado. They homesteaded south of Juniper Springs, Colo. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On July 11, 1948, in Craig, Colo., he married Edna Gerber. They lived their lives on a ranch near Maybell. He was a blacksmith and forged spurs, bits and most items needed for daily ranch work.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Louise (Duane) Irvine of Lander, Wyo.; sons, Pat (Glenda) Brannan of Hayden, Colo., Fred and Wayne Brannan of Maybell.; sister, Lola Jacobson of Thornton, Colo.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Evelyn, Edith and Hazel; and brothers, Alvin and Arthur.
Services were held March 23, 2000, at the Moffat County Fairgrounds Pavilion.
Pallbearers were Thomas Brannan, Dale Irvine, Lonnie Irvine, Rick Nielson, Aaron Irvine and George Bowen Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were Dave O'Conor, Gene Bittler, Jim Buffham, Monty Sheridan, John Brannan, Burt DeLambert, Walt Taggert, Ed Brannan and Dude DeLambert.
Graveside service at Maybell Cemetery was given by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4265.
Memorial contributions may be made to Maybell Community Fund in care of Grant Mortuary.
