Maybell tidbits


Dottie Petrini and Joanne Heed returned from the 45th annual Arabian horse show in Scottsdale, Ariz. They saw a show of more than 2,000 Arabian horses along with many celebrities. This was Dottie's 40th year attending the horse show. They went sightseeing and took some tours on their way back to Maybell.

Maybell Rustlers who didn't attend the quality assurance class Wednesday in Craig have one last time to do so at 7 p.m. April 10. There are seven local 4-Hers who are required to attend this class in order to participate in the county fair. To find out if you are one of the seven, call Jean Stetson or Lance Poole. Rustlers attending the retreat will need to be in Craig by 4 p.m Friday. If you need a ride, give the Pooles or Stetsons a call.

There will be a senior dinner at nooon Thursday at the Community Center. Bring 75 cents and a covered dish. Everyone is invited.

The senior bus will go to Craig Tuesday. If you need a ride, give Dave O'Conor a call.

Maybell Women's Club met Tuesday at the Community Center. After the meeting was opened by President Linda Sloan, the secretary and treasurer gave the monthly reports followed by each committee giving reports. The meeting was adjourned and the date for the next meeting was set for 7:30 p.m. April 11 at the Community Center. Maybell Women's Club would like to express its appreciation for all the community members who helped during the Maybell Plays.

Maybell students will sell raffle tickets for the annual fund-raiser. The grand prize will be a trip for two to Las Vegas staying at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino for two nights and three days, second prize will be a handmade crocheted afghan made by Lois Tibbs and third prize will be a crocheted doll made by Rose White. The winner of the raffle will be drawn on the night of the bingo, April 29. For more information, call Dianne Gould.

The Friday Craft Club will meet at 1 p.m. Friday at the Community Center. Crafters will be making candles. For supplies or for more information, call Pam Buffam.

Maybell now has an exercise class each Tuesday and Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Maybell gym. If there is anyone interested in a morning class, call Gretchen Mack. Everyone is welcome.
