The Maybell Women's Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Community Center. Marla Stephenson will bring a grab bag gift and the hostess will be Nancy Estes and Rose White. The January meeting will be to elect new officers. If interested in becoming an officer or if you know of someone you would like to represent the Women's Club, be ready to have your say at the meeting. A big thank you to the officers for the year 1999. You all did a great job. Any women from the Maybell community are invited to the Maybell Women's Club.

The Maybell 4-H Rustlers will have its monthly meeting at the
Community Center today. All 4-Hrs should get ready to sign up for their presentations. The 4-Hrs in the rocket club got together last weekend to launch their state fair rockets. All launches went well. The rocketeers are gearing up for the up-coming rocket year. Anyone interested in becoming a member, ages 5 to 18, may join the 4-Hrs. Any adult who would like to be involved may let Jean Stetson or Lance Poole know.

There will be a public meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Community Center. The meeting will be on how the Bureau of Land Management manages the wildland fires and prescribed fires as well as the hazardous fuels around our community. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Teddy Bear story time is resuming stories from 11:30 a.m. to noon each Wednesday. Stories are read to the children ages 2 to 6 and a craft or game is played. Homeschoolers, ages 6 to 11, are welcome to attend storytime from 2:45 p.m to 3 p.m. each Wednesday.

Maybell residents and the Maybell branch library of Moffat County Libraries thanks everyone for their hard work cleaning, rearranging and painting the library in 1999. Their efforts gave the building a fresh new look and enhanced ongoing services to the community.

The Maybell seniors will have their dinner at noon Thursday at the Community Center. Bring a covered dish and 75 cents.

The Sagebrush Shuttle will go to Craig on Tuesday. If anyone needs a ride give Dave O'Conor a call and he will pick you up at your home.

Maybell has lost a long-time resident. Elaine Mellott died from cancer in Oregon last week. Services will be at a later date. Sympathy to her friends and family.

Get well wishes to Mary Beth Carr and April Valasquez. Get better soon!
