To the Editor,
The Substance Abuse Prevention Program extends a big THANK YOU to the Craig community for their excellent support of our annual pancake breakfast fund-raiser. We also want to thank all the students for canvassing the town and selling the tickets. We raised $8,000 this year, our best year ever! Way to go! All the money will go back to the community through scholarships, after school programs, Red Ribbon Week and the numerous other programs SAPP supports. We also need to thank the schools, teachers and principals for coordinating the fund-raiser in their buildings. This is a lot of hard work and as always, you came through.
A special thank you to Chris Nichols and all his staff at McDonald's. Chris has been an outstanding supporter of SAPP since its' inception in 1986. Without his cooperation, this would not be possible. Thank you Chris.
We also need to thank the Craig Police Department and Moffat County Sheriff's Office and their officers for volunteering time bussing tables, cooking pancakes and giving rides to the students. Also Kent Nielson of Grand Futures and the parents and other volunteers that helped, thank you very much. Thank you Trapper Mine and Jackson's Office Supply for donating the grand prizes this year. Our winners were ecstatic over those portable CD players.
Lastly, I want to thank John Forgay of the Craig Police Department, the secretary for SAPP. John's dedication and loyalty to SAPP is seldom recognized. He works tremendous hours keeping SAPP organized. Keeping minutes, coordinating meetings, writing letters and numerous other tasks are greatly appreciated.
If I missed anyone, I apologize. There are so many people that make this event a success. Thank you again to all who helped.
