Sheriff's department hunts up help

The Moffat County Sheriff's Department had its sights set on raising money for the County Sheriffs of Colorado Association, and with some help from local outfitters they found what they were hunting for.

Dick Dodd and Dean Visintainer from Elkhorn Outfitters donated a guided antelope hunt to be auctioned at the organization's annual conference.

The money raised will help to fund the association's move to a new office in Douglas County.

Moffat County Sheriff Buddy Grinstead thought it was great that local business contributed to the effort.

"To me it is important to know that we have that local support," said Grinstead. "It was a gesture that helped Moffat County do its part and demonstrated the generosity of our business. It is nice to know we can turn to the community when we need a hand."

Willy Georgiou and Colorado Mountain West Outfitting also donated two elk hunts to be auctioned at the conference.
