Meeker swept by Bulldogs

The Craig Middle School seventh-grade and eighth-grade football teams swept Meeker Saturday at Craig Middle School field.

The seventh-grade A squad downed Meeker, 32-18, and the eighth-grade A team rolled past its counterpart, 38-8

"The seventh-grade game was pretty tough as it went back and forth," said coach Gary Tague. "We made some big plays and then we pulled away. It was an exciting game to watch. Thirty-two points in a seventh-grade game is really outstanding."

In the eighth-grade game, the Bullpups raced out to a 24-0 lead at halftime and never looked back.

"After halftime we didn't want to pour anything on and we worked on different phases of our game that needed to work," said Tague. "The kids really executed well and our offensive line did a super job blocking for us this week."

The Bullpups will next be in action at 9 a.m. Saturday when both the seventh-grade and eighth-grade teams host Rangely at Craig Middle School field.
