Sunset Elementary School in Craig is holding a book fair today through Nov. 9. The fair is a Scholastic Book Fair and more 150 publishers will be represented, according to Judy Muldoon, coordinator of the event at Sunset.
Books will be sold in paperback to keep costs low and a variety of books will be offered.
"This book fair is open to the community and readers of all ages will find books to read," Muldoon said. Offered books will be in the high-interest range for all readers.
All funds raised during the fair will be used to purchase more books and equipment for the school library and money will also be used to buy books for classroom libraries.
"We are working for a good solid library in each classroom," Muldoon said.
This year, teachers at Sunset Elementary have produced classroom book wish-lists and community members will be able to purchase books on the list for classroom use.
"So when students finish reading their library books they can read something from the classroom library," Muldoon said.
The book fair will be held at Sunset Elementary during regular school hours, from 7:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., and on Nov. 2, 4 and 9, the fair will be open until 7 p.m.
