Thomas M. Sommers

Thomas M. Sommers of Meeker Colo., died Oct. 8, 1999, at Pioneers Hospital in Meeker. He was 52.
On Nov. 21, 1946, in Denver he was born the son of Thomas G. and Arlene A. (Graham) Sommers. He was raised in Sterling, Colo., and was graduated from St. Anthony's High School. He joined the U.S. Army, serving three years as a food inspector with the 110th Medical Detachment stationed throughout the United States and also in Hannau, Germany.
In 1980 Sommers and his family moved to Meeker where Sommers was employed in the natural gas fields by Public Service Company.
On April 18, 1997, he married Maria Isala Lopez.
He is survived by his wife; children, Treavor A. (Carolee) Sommers of Reno, ., Tara L. Sommers of Clifton, Colo., Brandon C. Sommers of Craig, Colo., step-children, Kenly Maldonado, Daniela Maldonado and Josue Maldonado of Meeker; mother, Arlene Steele of Meeker; and former wife, Meredith Kent of Fort Collins.
He was preceded in death by a son, Scott Derick Sommers in 1974, and father in 1985.
Memorial services were held Oct. 12 at Meeker Mortuary.
