The Craig Middle School football teams finished another successful season Saturday in Meeker.
In the seventh-grade game the Bullpups blanked Meeker, 34-0, to finish the season undefeated.
"Last time we played Meeker it was a great ball game, but this time around we outplayed them and we beat them at every phase of the game," said coach Gary Tague.
In the eighth-grade game, Craig ran past Meeker, 30-6.
"Several of the A players weren't there," said Tague. "We were playing them with B players and just a few A players. The kids did a great job and the kids just had a real good game. Our linemen did a good job across the front."
The eighth-graders lost one game all year and that was to Steamboat Springs.
"When we played Steamboat Springs the second time we thumped on them," said Tague. "We beat them a lot worse than they beat us."
Tague believes the players improved in every aspect of the game.
"I saw night-and-day improvement," said Tague. "At that age level that is what you see. The kids learned so much and they are so much better than they were at the first of the year. That's what we like to see. The seventh-graders are a good group of kids."
Tague said the eighth-graders are ready to make the jump to high school.
"We have them ready to move into the high school level," said Tague. "All they have to do is have the attitude.
"With a little bit of work they will be ready for high school football."
