With the sky clear and temperatures hovering near the 70-degree mark, 35 floats crept past sightseers Friday in Craig during the 1999 Moffat County High School (MCHS) Homecoming Parade.
During the annual fall parade, everything from a miniature Corvette to a tractor-trailer truck full of screaming football players was witnessed as the floats competed for cash prizes.
Community members judged the floats on originality, creativity and staying with a common theme. The parade theme this year was "Century Celebration."
Prizes were awarded in two categories. The first category has each class at MCHS while the second is open to any other group.
Winners in the category of MCHS classes are: first place, junior class; second place, freshman class; third place, senior class; and fourth place, sophomore class.
Winners in the non-MCHS class were: first place, Maybell School, and second place, Ridgeview Elementary School.
