Congratulations to Katie Buffam. Katie received a congressional tribute of honor in her name by U.S. Rep. Scott McInnis, R-Colo. McInnis expressed his gratitude and appreciation for all Buffam's years of volunteering her time and keeping Maybell Library open for 22 years. Katie is carrying her certificate with great pride. Congrat-ulations, Katie.



Maybell Rustlers were well represented at the annual achievement night dinner. The Maybell Rustlers were awarded the first place in the 4-H window display contest and received a 100 percent completion award. Frankie Stetson won grand champion for his junior livestock record book and third place in market beef records. Libby Stetson won fifth place in market beef records and a third place in overall livestock record keeping. Frankie Stetson won for best kept treasure book for the 4-H clubs. Burt and Diane Schaffer were given a special recognition for their help with the horse division in 4-H for many years. Tom and Joyce were also special guests for so many dedicated years helping with the 4-H club. Congratulations to everyone.

Maybell Rustlers are reminded of their registration papers. If you have not turned them in to Lance Poole or Jean Stetson, do so before Dec. 1. The Rustlers will hold a monthly meeting at 4 p.m Dec. 3 at the Community Center.



The Maybell school Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting will be at 3:15 p.m. Thursday. All parents are encouraged to attend.



As a reminder, the next senior dinner will be at noon Dec. 9. Bring 75 cents and a covered dish. The senior bus makes its weekly trip to Craig each Tuesday. If a ride is needed, call Dave.



'Tis the season for holiday party's in Maybell. If you're planning a holiday party in Maybell at the Community Center, you need to call a board member to reserve your date.



Congratulations to the following Maybell students who were on the first quarter honor roll for Craig for grades five through eight: Jake Hemingway, Jesse Haskins, Brian Poole and Frankie Stetson.



Maybell Library would like everyone to know that December will be the last month to turn in eight receipts for a piece of pie. Thank you to everyone who participated in the promotion.

This week the books of the week are: "01-01-00" by R.J. Pineiro and for children, "When Bluebell Sang," by Lisa Ernst. Check these books out and mention this article and receive a gift from Maybell Library.

Teddy Bear Story Time is from 11:30 a.m. to noon each Wednesday for children ages 2 to 6. The children last week heard the story "Daisy's Crazy Thanksgiving" and made turkeys. There is also a story time from 2:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. for children ages 6 to10. Homeschoolers are welcome.
