The Memorial Hospital (TMH) Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday to discuss issues that will lead TMH into the next millennium.
Much of the meeting is scheduled for medical staff executive committee recommendations for appointments and privileges. Staff members in line for these recommendations are:
Dr. Allen Belshaw to move from provisional staff to active staff with privileges in Class III general surgery; emergency medicine as outlined on the completed Emergency Medicine Delineation Checklist and anesthesiology as outlined on the completed Anesthesiology Delineation Checklist.
Nurse midwife Cheryl Chesnut from provisional staff to non-physician healthcare provider staff with privileges as nurse practitioner in accordance with Colorado Board of Nursing Regulations and nurse midwife in accordance with the nurse midwife checklist.
Dr. Harold Pierce from provisional staff to associate staff with privileges in urology consistent with available support systems at TMH.
Dr. Ron Danner from provisional staff to non-physician healthcare provider staff with optometry privileges, in accordance with Colorado statutes governing the practice of optometry and the medical staff bylaws and rules and rules and regulations governing all non-physical healthcare providers.
Dr. Joe Gottfried from provisional staff to active staff with privileges in anesthesiology, in accordance with the completed Anesthesiology Delineation List and Emergency Medicine Delineation List.
Proposals for new medical equipment include a replacement ambulance for the emergency response team (ERT). The leadership team at TMH recommended purchasing a new vehicle from Rocky Mountain Emergency Vehicles. Estimated cost is $94,028. The current ERT vehicle has an estimated value of $5,000.
Other purchases include an ultrasound/electrostimulatiounit, an iontophoresis unit and a Shuttle 2000 knee and ankle rehabilitation machine.
Trustees will also discuss and set up a proposal to purchase a back-up colonoscope for surgery and a new lawn maintenance and snow removal tractor.
Results of the annual Board of Trustee self-evaluation survey will also be presented.
