Nominations for holiday lighting contest closed

Nominations for the Craig Daily Press and Yampa Valley Electric Association annual Holiday Home Lighting contest closed today. Eight houses were nominated and will be judged Wednesday night by the staff of the Craig Daily Press.

Winners will be announced in the Friday edition of the Craig Daily Press. There will be a $100 prize for first place, $75 for second and $25 for third.

The community is encouraged to take the holiday home lighting tour.

Homes nominated were: Ingrid Estey, 777 Stout St.; Joe and Ruth Skufka, 725 West Ninth St.; Grace Valdez, 525 School St.; Randy Tennis, 641 Tucker St.; Mark and Becky Gorham, 1519 Yampa Ave.; the home at 894 Ashley St.; John and Phylis Chadwick, 2110 Jeffcoat Dr.; and Rena Olsen, 2033 Wheatridge Dr. Several of these homes received more than one nomination.
