Romney Law Office has offices in Craig, Steamboat Springs, and Denver. Our general practice firm offers a full range of legal services. Each of our attorneys brings specialized experience in a focused practice area to help you when you need it.

Sherman Romney has been practicing law in the Yampa Valley for the past 15 years. He has worn many different hats including Municipal Judge (City of Craig), City Attorney (City of Craig and Town of Rangely), and Assistant County Attorney (Moffat County Department of Social Services). Areas of practice include municipal law, business law, wills and trusts, estate planning, and bankruptcy (including Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases). Sherman is originally from British Columbia, graduating from the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder. His undergraduate degree in economics was received from the University of Utah. Being fluent in Spanish, Sherman also assists the local Hispanic community. When not in the office, Sherman enjoys time with his wife Lori, and their three children.

Douglas S. Timmerman Esq. brings with him over seventeen years of litigation experience. Doug's practice began in Illinois in 1991, after graduating from the University of Illinois College of Law. During his tenure as an active attorney in Illinois, Doug represented hundreds of clients in successful bench trials, jury trials, and settlements. While an associate at the firm of Johnson, Frank, Frederick & Walsh, Doug engaged in oral argument before the Illinois Supreme Court and assisted the firm with a jury trial that resulted in a record $15 million personal injury jury verdict in Vermillion County, Illinois. While in Illinois, Doug also handled administrative and regulatory law matters and was appointed in numerous cases to specially prosecute drivers' license reinstatement hearings on behalf of the Illinois Department of Secretary of State.

Doug became licensed to practice law in Colorado in 2002. Upon moving to Colorado, in September 2001, Doug has worked with F.D. Azar & Associates in the Denver Metro area and as Assistant Regulation Counsel for the Colorado Supreme Court Office of Attorney Regulation. In joining as a partner with Romney Law Office, Doug is focusing his practice on Civil and Criminal Litigation, including representing individual clients in personal injury, criminal, divorce, administrative, regulatory law and employment discrimination.

Anne M. Zoltani . Anne is originally from Washington State and transplanted to Colorado to attend the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder. After graduating in 2006, Anne worked as an associate with Faber Bantz P.C., a small downtown-Denver transactional law firm. Anne's practice focused on transactional matters assisting businesses and individuals with securities law, corporate and partnership law, international business transactions, private equity deals, and estate planning.
In June 2008, Anne moved to Northwest Colorado bringing her background and experience in non-profit issues, family business succession planning, and a variety of transactional business matters. Anne is a member of the American Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association. Anne is also a member of the ABA New Zealand International Law Committee. As an associate with The Romney Law Office, Anne's practice is currently primarily focused on transactional matters including estate planning, trust administration, business law, elder law, and real estate transactions.

Nitche Ward has been working to protect the rights of the accused for over a decade. In 1998, she began her studies in Criminal Justice at North Carolina Central University. She went on to organize with organizations such as Critical Resistance, and the BlackOut Arts Collective, both nationally active organizations that fight for the rights of the accused and aggressively campaign to abolish the Criminal Industrial Complex. In 2002 she started working with the National Organization for Women, the largest women’s organization in the world, organizing protest and demonstrations to protect the rights of women, communities of color, and organizing around programs such as the Women in Prison Project.

Ward graduated from the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law with the same passion. Having a background in performance and being ranked internationally in the top five female slam poets in the world, by Poetry Slam, Inc, she marries her background in performance and oral persuasion with her dedication to law and justice in order to aggressively fight for the rights of the accused. While balancing positions such as, President of the Black Law Student Association and President of the Law Students for Choice, within a few years she developed a reputation as one of the top female “trial dogs” at DU. Niche currently focuses her practice on criminal defense, Immigration/Asylum, Family Law, Business Formation, Bankruptcy, and Wills, Trust & Estate Planning.
