No just something I have heard around town. All I know is that the teen girl is either 16 or 17 and the man that was arrested is about 28 years old. And she was sending him pic of herself.

That is how I feel. Where are the parents in this? Why was this girl not supervised better then this? And parents pay attendtion to what your children are doing. The internet is not a good thing always, specially in situations like this. Goes to show you that it can happen anywhere in the USA, and now it has messed up a girls life and a guy, I am sure that he will go to prison for awhile. And what if he has a family? What has it done to them?

I can't fell sorry for the guy, if he had a family then I fell sorry for them. I don't even know about the girl but there needs to be someone around who limits the time on a computer and makes sure kids are not going into areas of the internet like this. absent parents I would say or letting another electronic device be the babysitter.

The only reason I would feel sorry for the man is that if he had a family. I guess what I am trying to say is that I feel sorry that the family would go thru this. At 16 or 17 yrs old a child knows the difference and I think that sometimes that the girls messed up in this sort of thing should be punished also. They are old enough to say NO, what is this man going to do if she said no, since he lived so far away? Just say no and turn the computer off. Some of these girls anymore are more then willing to show off what they have and the men are the ones that gets punished for it. I am not saying the man was not in the wrong, but so was this teen girl and her parents.

your right on about the fact that girls have a responsability in this as well. I guess that the way I feel about it is porn on the internet is where this goes off track. some perv on the internet looking at the internet to get his rocks off does not lend itself to making me feel sorry for him. If hes got a family then thats worse. what if his kids got on there? why isn't he paying attention to his wife?(there are instances where I can see not paying attention to ones spouse) but I will feel sorry for the family not him. There are plenty of ways to fufill your needs without looking at underage children on the web.

So the rumor is that a 17 year old girl sent some 28 year old guy her picture. and he is going to jail? Aside from the fact that a significant percentage the young girls these days dress and act like hookers and look twice their age, I could see that it might be easy for a 28 year old guy to think it was ok for a 34 year old looking woman to send him her photo. I guess I need more facts before I get judgemental on this one.

But also..how do you guys all know that the man wasn't being deceptive about his age or who he is. Young girls will fall for anything and yes; her parents should be around to protect her and give her guidance regarding internet. BUT whose also to say she wasn't telling this guy that she was 26 and not 16…maybe he thought he had met someone through an internet dating site and found out after the fact that this girl was just that-an underage girl. It goes both ways.

It does but the sad part is that this shouldn't be done on the internet kids need to be watched and supervised around a computer. I once fell victim to a pervert on the internet myself.

Aaaww…poor, poor 50. Do you know who it was and were they older than you or much younger?? Have you suffered miserably because of it? Has it changed your life? Do tell us as I think talking openly about your experiences could help you get over them and teach all of us important lessons for the future.

    You are all to funny.
I found out today from my wife that indeed it is true. This young girl has been talking to this man for many years and they both knew how old each other was. He had sent her all kinds of stuff and set her up so that she could take pictures and video herself for him. My wife found out from her nephew that works at City Market, the mom of the girl works there with him.

oh that's too much infor wonderdog, now we'll all be looking at the kids and women in city market to see whose daughter was doing this.
my granddaughters spend a fair amount of time on their computers and their parents tell them and we've told them, never give out any personal info to someone you don't know. shut it down in a hurry.
however i can see where some of these kids could get hooked. a child at home while mom and dad work………..because they have to………..and some where along the line he/she gets to visiting with someone and they have a way of finding out what the kids likes and so on and pretty soon they are good buddies and “oh my i'd just love to see what you look like. could you send me a picture? wow, your cute now could I have one with a swimsuit shot?” some creep who pays attention to our kids can get away with way to much and then many kids never tell anyone what happened because they feel so stupid and betrayed. So you guys are right, as parents and grandparents we need to pay a whole lot of attention to our children and make them feel like that are worth something.

Yes it has me wondering too. Our nephew don't know who the mom is, but everyone is talking about it at work. I will be going in there looking at all the women now too, wondering. Of course I don't do much of the shopping. I wonder if there is anything on the internet about it, it must have made at least some newspaper. Call me a gossip, but for some reason this one has me baffled. How it got so out of hand.

Redneckgirl, I too have several dogs who think I am the best and I shudder to think what they would do to some perv crawling into my window. If for some reason he did manage to get past the bodyguards, he'd be looking down the business end of a 45. But I wanted you to know that I had some friends who had two good dogs. One evening while they were out, some dude tried crawling in their bathroom window and I guess you know what the dogs did to that nutcase. My friends didn't know anything about it until they got served a week or so later. The guy sued them for injuries caused by their dogs! The awful part was that the pervert won and my friends had their dogs taken away and put to sleep for being “mean.” Their attorney told them it was partly because they had a sign up that read “beware of dogs.” This was an admission that their dogs were mean. They were told that should they hang out another sign, it should state: “dogs on premesis.” Such a sign would not be admitting to anything except that there were some dogs there.

hmmm…that's good to know Blondi. That's where our legal system fails, I guess I'll have to shoot him before he can get out of my house so that it falls back onto make my day law and the dogs would remain innocent.

I don't have no more *L* Was hoping one of you did. It don't really matter I was just teasing with you all. Just something that was bothering me at the time, I have a teen daughter myself and this could so easy happen to any of us.
I have looked on the net for newspapers and have found several items, but they all say it is a Denver girl. One blog in a news channel states that the girl is from NW Colorado and she, herself even wrote in saying she was “the girl in question” but I am not sure I believe that. Wouldn't the FBI be monitoring all of her computer use now? I am sure that we will not hear a word about it around here.
