    Considering that it is illegal (or at least frowned upon) to bury animals in your yard in city limits, then most people might not bury their animals in their yard. And when I last checked, most people don't bury a horse in their front yard. Most people have their horses cremated and/or disposed of by a Veterinarian. Also, sending a horse to slaughter means that the owner will not get the body back. Sounds like an excuse to get rid of self-percipience “bother” to me.
