Here's a question. In communities like Rifle, Rangely, Vernal, Pinedale, etc oil and gas companies have poured money in community development efforts in the forms of community centers, recreation centers, community colleges, etc.
Why aren't we asking Questar, Quicksilver, Shell, etc to pony up and help support this community? The mines and power plant have done this repeatedly, but I don't know of an instance where and oil and gas operator has stepped up in Moffat County and said "Hey, don't worry, we'll pay for it because we're a good neighbor and we want to help."
Seems like this could be a solution in paying for repairs to the Luttrell Barn as well as other community development projects. The oil and gas companies get good PR and we finally get something from them as well.
