Please check facts before making an assertion. President Obama did NOT cancel the National Day of Prayer. The Presidential proclamation can be found here:
President Obama also spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast in February.http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2012/0…

As someone who actually voted for Obama, I am now horrified at some of the very serious actions he has taken against the American people. For me, they are:
1. Signing the National Defense Authorization Act on December 31, 2012, under every ones noses when the people were too worried about partying on New Years Eve & not worrying about our Constitutional Rights being taken away just like that. Most people still don't know what has actually occurred.2. Stopping the space shuttle program (destroying a whole town in Florida) & giving the space program over to Russia.3. Not enforcing the borders.4. Under his administration, the National Security Administration is building a complex 3 times the size of the US Capital Bldg in Bluffdale, Utah for the sole purpose of monitoring US citizens' emails, phone calls, and anything else related to electronics, for spying on Americans, with I'm sure the taxpayer's money which we willingly give to them in April-thus paying them to spy on US. 5. Not upholding the Geneva Convention-which the President is mandated to do (against genocides) by bringing Bush & Cheney up on terrorism & genocide charges.
These are just a few examples of my dismay at the Administration.
I am really, really disappointed in the man Obama turned out to be. But I guess there are many things in our lives, where the reality is not what it appears to be & until we, Americans wake up out of our sheep state & pay attention, it will only get worse.

On HR 347, please note that 388 Members of the House of Representatives passed this legislation before sending it on to the President for his signature.

Rosemary, I get that you hate Obama. But before you go off saying that it's wrong for the administration to act on this “for profit law”, you should do a little reading about who is set to gain from it, and why the propaganda machine falsley reports a rise in immigration.About Sb 1070 and it's implications…This is all over the internet if you bother to google it, here is just one article on “following the money” behind the racial profiling law that Jan Brewer came up with…
…During this election cycle, Arizona politicians have touted the potential danger of illegal immigration. Gov. Jan Brewer is one of the loudest voices. She has made several statements to the national media, the validity of which CBS 5 Investigates could not confirm. The governor told one media outlet that almost all illegal immigrants are bringing drugs across the border. U.S. Border Patrol officials said that statement is false. Brewer also said law enforcement officials have found decapitated bodies in the desert. Calls to all of Arizona’s border county medical examiners revealed no decapitated bodies have been reported to them. A look at data from the FBI shows crime in Arizona is actually down. Murders in Phoenix have dropped by 50 percent since 2003. The violent crime rate across the state has dropped every year since at least 2004. Even the number of illegal border crossers is down. Border Patrol numbers show they are arresting half as many illegal immigrants as they did in 2004. […] In the meantime, a CBS 5 investigation revealed that there is one business that could gain from the implementation of SB 1070 and similar immigration measures. The private prison industry houses illegal immigrant detainees for the federal government. Those companies could gain contracts with state and local agencies to house illegal immigrants arrested for state violations. Corrections Corporation of America, or CCA, holds the federal contract to house detainees in Arizona. The company bills $11 million per month. CBS 5 Investigates has learned that two of Brewer’s top advisers have connections to CCA. Paul Senseman is the governor’s deputy chief of staff. He is also a former lobbyist for CCA. His wife is listed as a current lobbyist for the company. Chuck Coughlin is one of the governor’s policy advisers and her campaign chairman. Coughlin’s company, HighGround Public Affairs Consultants, currently lobbies for CCA.
I also think the constitution that you claim to know so well says something about equality for all, regardless of race, creed, religion, ect. So how is it that we have the right (duty to, in SB-1070) to demand papers from citizens based on skin color or nationality?

Ranger - “illegals” who have jobs pay into social security, and other payroll deductions. More than likely they will never be able to collect these monies. Working “illegals” - and there are many, they come here to work - aren't getting anything like the free ride you claim.

PS - thanks, Rosemary. Another laughable work of fiction. Made scary by the fact that you believe it.

Obama will win again. As a republican I plan on voting for him myself this time. Why? Because republicans are destroying this country by developing gas and oil without the clean air and water act.The keystone pipe line they pushed, promoting Canada and China's interest over our own citizens for profit.after the Gulf oil spill and damages he has taken a more conservative look at our oil production and I like what he has done,Killing the Keystone pipeline.Oil is a rare earth mineral and should be treated as such.Obama for four more years and to hell with the polluting republicans. They are all just the same and that is for big oil who pay no taxes and expect to ruin our community's as they please.Go Democrats..

Ranger - I have a friend who owns a bookkeeping business and does books for several construction businesses. Statement re: FICA dollars/deductions and “illegals” not being able to collect comes directly from her. PS - there are lots of folks (white, BTW) born in the US who are getting “tons of free stuff” at taxpayers expense, as well. I think you need to broaden your vision.
Your opinions re: “anti-American”, the appropriateness of impeachment and deportation, etc. are just that: opinions, based on fiction, and not supported by facts.
Well said, kathleenpost.

Ranger - you seem to be operating under the mistaken belief that the President acts alone. HR 347 was passed by the Congress/Senate, both duly elected bodies. Should every member who voted for it be deported, as well? Additionally, you over-state the operation of HR 347. In fact, what you state is pretty much patently false. Even the ACLU has not come out and opposed it - they will be monitoring its operation and effect.

Obama is destroying this country bit by bit. If you don't see it you must live under a rock - or simply have your head filled with the barrage of misinformation by the very biased mainstream media. They are in bed with Obama. My advice, do some research of your own. Look at Obama's track record and his lack of accomplishments. Even his beloved Obamacare that was shoved down our throats does not have the support of the majority in this country, and is now being challenged in the supreme court.
@kathleenpost, I'm going to assume that you only walk or ride a bike and do not use any fossil fuels of any sort. I'm also going to assume that you agree with wasting billions on “green” energy companies that were ill conceived and wasting our hard earned tax dollars. Simply saying you want the country to go “green” does not make it so, and it certainly won't work if the government is pushing it. I'm not anti-green energy, however you can't throw money at an idea and simply wish it to work. We need companies to jump in with their own $$ and innovations. Obama's anti-fossil fuels agenda is crippling this country.
Though I'm not a big Romney supported, I'm very hopeful that he wins and his business background gets this country back on track. Obama has his own agenda going, he has not devoted the time and energy he should have to help this country get back on its feet and back to work. He's going to go down in history as the worst president ever - yes even worse than good old Jimmy Carter.
9 April 2012 at 9:15 p.m.
Do some real research into Romney's “business' background, and understand how many companies he bankrupted and how many jobs were actually lost so he could make millions. There has been no net gain to the economy due to any of his business activities.
9 April 2012 at 9:53 p.m.
3canines do you understand the type of work Romney was doing? He was not handed viable companies. He was mostly restructuring companies in serious financial trouble and on the verge of bankruptcy. Looks like you need to do some research of your own - and stay away from the likes of cnn, msnbc, etc.
Bottom line, I'll vote for anyone - except Obama!

Wow- There are a lot of people (Fedupwithlies) who really have no idea what is going on in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas… It is so easy for people to dismiss what they don't have to see or deal with everyday as lies. The fact of the matter is that there is a drug war going on just a few hundred miles south of where we are. The illegal immigration issue is a symptom of that. We don't have secure borders… we need to fix them. As far as the constitution not requiring you to provide papers, that is absurd. Any police officer at any time can make a lawful contact and ask for identification, if you have none they can take you into jail, hold you for 24 hours while they fingerprint you and identify you. Its the law. I find it funny that no one has looked at Mexico's immigration laws.. they are much more stringent than our own. Mexico is exporting their poverty and the illegals are sending the money back to Mexico to support families (well not enough of them are doing that, they are all too often dragging their families along with them..). I have lived along the border and seen the current state of affairs, we need to do something about it.
Go to Blog Del Narco www.blogdelnarco.com to see what really goes on in Mexico. Blog Del Narco is the online website where the real news gets published because the cartels in Mexico are killing off reporters and cops who publish the true stories. More people die a year in the mexican drug war than the war to date American casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan.
10 April 2012 at 3:18 p.m.
nadja - the investment firm for which he worked bought those companies as investments. I understand completely what Romney and his cronies were doing, and they all became millionaires, by bankrupting those companies and costing hundreds of people their jobs.
12 April 2012 at 9:24 p.m.
First, I want to say that the Cartels and drug dealers at the border need to be dealt with. But filling up privatized prisons with people even suspected of being here illegally at the taxpayer's expense, is not the answer to that problem.
If someone creates a lie, or highly exxagerates a percentage, to make a law that will greatly incresae their wealthat the expense of everyone they feel are not worthy of their concern, what makes you think they will stop at one group?Eventually there won't be any more illegals to fill the beds, then what?
http://www.campusprogress.org/article…… a “conservative, free-market orientated, limited-government group” called the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) collectively drafted the model legislation that became SB 1070. Much of the Arizona state legislature claims membership to the nonprofit group, including Arizona state senator Russell Pearce (R), one of SB1070’s sponsors and most vocal defendant.Other notable ALEC members include multi-billion dollar corporations eager to rub elbows with and influence conservative lawmakers: The National Rifle Association, ExxonMobil, and Corrections Corporation of America (CCA)—the largest private prison company in the nation. The business of detaining immigrants is so profitable, in fact, that its expansion actually saved CCA from imminent bankruptcy in 2004.It costs $122 dollars a day per bed filled at these for-profit prisons which were responsible for writing the bill. CCA
http://articles.cnn.com/2010-04-29/ju……Yet, a look at statistics from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency and the FBI indicate that both the number of illegal crossers and violent crime in general have actually decreased in the past several years.According to the nonpartisan Immigration Policy Institute, proponents of the bill “overlook two salient points: Crime rates have already been falling in Arizona for years despite the presence of unauthorized immigrants, and a century's worth of research has demonstrated that immigrants are less likely to commit crimes or be behind bars than the native-born.”One aspect of it is the number of apprehensions of unauthorized immigrants made by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency. Since a peak in 2000 of more than 600,000 illegal crossers apprehended, the number fell to 241,000 in 2009, Tucson Sector Public Affairs Officer Mario Escalante told CNN.“We've seen a steady decline,” he said.
