How about the Olympics? Those guys are great. I have been stuck without my satellite dish and only get over the air channels right now, so have been watching them. It is amazing how well these young people are doing. What does anyone think about the controversy over the Chinese gymnasts? They sure don't look old enough to me.

You know I thought the same thing the other night when I watched them and the American girls. I know some of thiese gilrs are just little, but I thought there is just no way they are 16! But the guys talking about this stuff said something about their passports state they are 16. My question tho, is why do the Chinese have to have passports for their own country? I must hve missed something in that commentary. They must have been talking about when these girls have gone to other countries or something and needing their passports??It would be such a shame to find out that China cheated and to have those medals taken away!

Granny look what they are doing to are kids now. all day kindergarden. preschool for three year olds now and our education system continues to lose standing in the world? why? this is indocternation plain and simple.

They were talking about how they take those kids out of their homes and away from their families when they are 3 or 4 years old. They go into training and maybe see their families once a year. WHAT? Is that crazy or what? At least the ones playing for the US are doing it because they want to. It kind of left me with the impression that they can't quit if they want to.

I sometimes wonder if our kids have much of a choice? I think many of them compete because they want to, but sometimes there are one or two that I think are there because of their parents. Parents can't do it anymore so they live it all through their kids. but that is just my thoughts. I do think it is so awesome for these kids……young adults, to be able to do this stuff. To experence the different countries and their cultures. That's pretty special and maybe a once in a life time deal for some of them.

That's because they have to find a way to get better test scores. i say dump the tests!

If they would just get back to teaching the basics we would have no problems with the tests. Look at all the technology we gained before we added bowling and golf to our PE classes. We put a man on the moon without a weight lifting class. We became the most advanced country in the world before we added speech and drama to the curriculum. Get back to the basics. Are they going to do something about checking the age of the Chinese gymnasts?

How about that Michael Phelps! Wow! Seven gold medals, bam, bam, bam. In a row. What a swimmer!

Eight Gold Medals! That's amazing! Mark Spitz's record stood for 36 years. How long will this one last?
