News this week showed snowpack in the Yampa River basin has reached 94 percent of median for the date. Do you think Moffat County is out of the woods as far as drought concerns?

Republican Senator from Texas announced on the senate floor Monday morning, in front of the cspan cameras that social security checks and MediCare payments will stop in 7 years.
The Washington Post this past week wrote that the Social Security Trust Fund has nothing but paper in it, IOU's that amount to over 2 trillion dollars.
They are paying benefits with current collected funds.
The nation is in serious trouble. Is anyone listening?
I hope this county, as well as the state, has a back-up plan for their elderly.

There ought to be a plan, and that's telling all the “poor” elderly who drive giant quarter-million dollar R.V.'s around with bumper stickers that say “I'm spending my childrens inheritance” off the program. And those Bums who get caught shingling their houses that they show on the television who are getting SSDI, running the program out of money. It should be a program for the needy, not the rich and a pack of rotten thieves.

Brokeback—You must not be anywhere near retirement age. Many retired people live on less than $800 a month. Many started working when they were 10-11 years old. Many younger retiree's went without so they could invest in 401k's or some kind of retirement plan. Many of those that you see driving those big motorhomes around have sold the family home and used that money to buy that motorhome, where they live year around. They aren't rich. They follow the warm weather. Down in Arizona where I winter-yes, I'm retired too, hundreds of those big fancy motorhomes are dry camped out in the desert where they have no electric bills or campground fee's. I thought about buying one of those bumper stickers that say I'm spending my kid's inheritance. My kids don't have an inheritance, but if I wanted a bumper sticker, that wouldn't stop me. The retiree's I know didn't go out into the world when they left home and had to have a new house and a new car and all the toys they wanted. They went without and worked hard so that when they retired they could have a life they could enjoy. Before you jump on the bandwagon and start taking away social security from those YOU don't think deserve it, check things out. They aren't as rich as you seem to think, and they worked hard for what they have. They saved for it. Will you?
