    All this time we kept reading and hearing that nobody is interested in taking our guns away from us. So how do you explain this? I got this several days ago in my email.

    House Bill HR45, Blair Holt Licensing and Record Act os 2009 (introduced 01/06/09) states that it will make it illegal to own a firearm unless you have been issued a firearm license. You can't buy or sell firearms unless the recipient presents a valid firearms license (no more private sales). If you fail to report loss or theft of a firearm to the Attorney general with 72 hours, fail to report to the AG an address change within 60 days, keeping a loaded or unloaded firearm and ammunition for the firearm where a child might gain access and use the firearm to cause death or bodily injury then you lose all rights to own firearms. Each update costs money and if you fail to comply, you lose your right to own firearms.

    I do agree with whoever wrote the following. Laws only apply to law abiding citizens and are not written with criminals in mind. It is not about having laws on the books to prosecute individuals, but it is about taking guns away from us. A disarmed populace is easier to control than an armed one. The kings of old also outlawed weapons of any kind to quell the ability of the citizen to uprise against them.

    Our founding fathers understood all this and therefore included the second amendment in the constitution. They made the right to keep and bear arms against a tyrannical state an absolute right that could not be revoked. They did this because the first thing tyrants and despots do is to remove a population's right to defend themselves. When this is done, the tyrants have no problem with the destruction of society.

    2nd amendment right out the window. Now we've lost them all.

    Check out the legislation presented this past week….FEMA Camps and 5 man Firing Squads for anyone who robs anything with a hand gun. Senator says it's more humane.

    I can't make this stuff up.

    I looked this Bill up, it is very scary. Please contact Salazar and pressure him to oppose this. He's not on the comittee this Bill is currently in front of, but no one from Colorado is. Take a look at the members of the committee http://judiciary.house.gov/about/memb… and see if you have any family/friends in those states. If you do, please have them contact their congressman and have him or her oppose this Bill. If this get's passed we can kiss our gun rights goodbye!

    Hello taxslave;
    Why are you making fun of firing squads for using a gun to commit a crime. I truly believe that if there was a mandatory death sentence for anyone convicted of any crime where a gun was used while commiting it. Then some of this crazy gun use would come to an end. When people are doing things that step on the civil and constitutional rights of others, and do it with no appearant punishment. Then the time must come for drastic measures to stem these types of actions. If I were President, that is how I would fight gun crime, not the way idiot Osama is.

    We need to pass a law like Montana. Never will happen with the governor we have in office now.
