I will going on vacation for the next few days so I wanted to wish everyone out there who reads the forums a happy forth of july. I would like to share with you the hopes and joys that living in the greatest country god ever created have given us all. In 1918 Irving Berlin wrote the song God Bless America. he set it aside until 1938 due to the rise of Adlof Hitler. Berlin who was a jewish immigrant from siberia revisited the song. He still had doubts about the song when he showed it to Kate Smith who had a radio show, she assured him that it would be a hit and he agreed to let her sing it saying he could take no money for the song since it was inspired by God. After some discussion it was decided where the money would go. Kate Smith sang the song in 1938 and within a week the song was sold out across the nation. from records to sheet music everyone had it. Irving Berlin gave all the money to the boy scouts of america.

So I hope that everyone understands that even if you don't believe in God our founding fathers did which inspired them to create this country just as God inspired Irving Berlin to write God Bless America.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoys the freedoms that have been granted to us. If you get a chance thank God for our country and if you see a vet thank him to.

Hey, 50, how is/was your vacation? I too am on vacation and was able to enjoy a great 4th! I sat in a porch swing with my honey and watched the fireworks and thought how cool it is to be able to see them every year and to just spend time with family and feel patriotic with all the red, white and blue. I get pretty emotional when the flags come down the street in a parade and see the vets with their units.
To all of you out there who have served and are serving……thank you a bunch!

this vacation has been great took one day and went on rabbit ears pass. It was one of the most enjoyable days I've had in years. Still not finished with it yet though.

I went on a mini-vacation….i went fishing down by the river, caught a HUGE fish….then i got rear-ended. It's okay though, no damage!

So…Granny, since this is a forum to discuss the NEWS (according to Nimrod) that the CPD reports; lets talk about Mrs. Walters' sewing hobby, or how about Mrs. Prathers' egg & whatever casserole….now that's some awesome news that we should be discussing. Now I think the article about Mary Walters is nice and she is doing something good for our soldiers. Mrs. Prather has some good recipes………….Nimrod chill out. Let us babble about stuff while we discuss topics and we all get some interesting reading and sometimes learn things while we read the sillyness! It kind of makes my day and I think I'm finding out I'm not the only nut job in town!!!…………….or were you being silly too?? if so, welcome brother/sister!!
Besides a forum is to inform and by reading here I have found out that 50cal likes being smacked by grizzlies, Granny has lived here a long time and no longer cooks, Redneck has gotten rear-ended and didn't get hurt, Taxslave keeps a watch out for us all and I think needs to relax sometimes, Stan is keeping us alerted on the hospital mess, Native quit talking to us, but we know he is loyal to his cause too, Pat what's his name is from outter space…………..I could go on, but I am just trying to point out by all of this that I have been informed cuz I have learned something from these people and about them too. So it is a FORUM!! ;o)
