I thought this was interesting information for those of us who would rather not support the Middle East's oil producers.
This info was sent to me in an email, and the full information is available from the US Department of Energy. I checked that site myself and found this info to be reliable. If you want the link, I posted it below.
http://www.eia.doe.gov/oil_gas/petrol…
This is good information for you to see where your fuel dollars are going and who they are supporting…
While the DOE says it cannot guarantee where the gas you put in your car comes from since refineries sell their gas to other companies, at least we can support those US oil companies who do not buy direct from the Middle East.
“Some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:
Sunoco………………0 barrels
Conoco………………0 barrels
Sinclair………………0 barrels
BP/Phillips………….0 barrels
Hess………………….0 barrels
ARC0…………………0 barrels
These companies import Middle Eastern oil:
Shell……………………… 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco……… 144,332,000 barrels
Exxon/Mobil…………… 130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway… 117,740,000 barrels
Amoco……………………….62,231,000 barrels
Citgo gas is from South America, from a Dictator who hates Americans. ”

Native,
The two listings I see for Phillips are
BP/Phillips and ConocoPhillips Co., so I am guessing here that Phillips 66 is one of these two and it looks like they are good.

NativeGirl, thanks for the info. I get emails all the time to “hit'm where it hurts” and not buy gas from certain companies, but they don't usually say which companies buy their gas from other countries.
I've also heard that our buddy from South America that hates us, has gotten wise to our boycott of his stations and has changed the name to “Pitco” or some such thing. I don't think I have that name right at the moment, but it is something like that.
I wonder how do you find out who, besides Sinclair, brings the gas into our local stations? I guess I should pay more attenton to those tankers as they are dropping off fuel?!?!?!
