It's worse than I first predicted the 6 bucks/gal a few months back…it may go to 8 bucks.
Listen up city, county, state, CDP….are we prepared for the reality in the near future?
The banks are imploding on WS this morning and oil is headed NORTH….gold is headed NORTH (told ya so), and the American economy is in serious trouble.
Seriously, everyone, are we budgeted for this?

tax look on the bright side, when they have to shut everything down we won't have to buy carbon credits from Al Gore. Thus saving tax money so we can buy trees to offset all the hot air coming from the Denver company contracted to find out if we need a rec. center.

How to budget. First off, we don't raise taxes for the rec center. We re-think the taxes for the hospital until the hospital secures financing. They have plenty of explaining to do to the public. We table this silly talk of taxes for a rec center at the present time as well.
We're intelligent people and we can figure this out. First off, we have plenty of electricity. How about we buy a few electric shuttles. We run them on the every half hour from say the OP to Columbine. It's a start.
Second, we're going to all have to show up at the council meetings and bring these people up to date with reality and demand accountability.
Gas will go to 7 bucks a gallon directly.

should we raise taxes for the shuttles?
First off DO NOT leave the house with any thing smaller thn a five dollar bill. Remember how you used to save quarters? do it with dollar bills now. At the end of the month take your dollar bills and add it up it will pay for the extra gas.
Second use the cruise control this will help you conserve fuel.
Third drive 65 instead of 70 every little bit will help.
tax are you ready to be told what the county or city thinks of you when you get done talking?
I.E: when I hear you I want to get drunk.

I saw them predicting $7 a gallon gas on TV today…40 years from now. Predicting stuff like that is complete hogwash. The economy isn't linear. It contracts and expands at variable rates. Are we going through a tough spot right now? Sure. Does it do you any good to give yourself ulcers worrying about it? No. We're not going to have another Great Depression. Too much has been learned about the failings of the 1920s to ever see anything like that again. Fed Chief Ben Bernanke is a student of The Great Depression. He's written at length on the topic.
If you remember your market principles, you buy low and sell high. Now is a great time to buy! If I had some extra cash I'd be looking at getting some GM stock. Their position right now sucks but a lot of analysts think once GM starts cranking out high fuel mileage cars AND starts their new contract with the UAW (which will save the company money) we may see out of this world growth from GM.
Instead of worrying about the economy, keep yourself relevant. Never stop learning. It's the easiest way to keep yourself employed.

neal come now keep this stuff quiet we don't want the value going up just yet. PLEASE give it to the end of the day.
Neal is so right on this issue do not get over excited about this. save a little where you have to to pay for the things you need. A little slump yes but a perfect opportunity for a smart market buyer.

Anyone who buys into this market must be made of steel, gold is the play. The S&P will probably go to 1050 or so…the DOW, below 10,000. Gas will be 5 bucks by July 4th, I predict. That's 1 week away.

btw, Bush signed an EO yesterday declaring a “State of Emergency” over the economy along with Iran/NK. He can enact martial law whenever he wants with this EO. I'm signing off.
