I agree that there are not enough voters.During our recall effort it was obvious that hundreds of not thousands of our local citizens are not registerdd. We can make a difference, why not start right here at home. Mom, maybe you can take some of your energy and become a campaigner and initiate a voter registration in Moffat County. I'm sure Lyla Herod and the Secretary of State could help get you set up.

I just hope everyone who can read my words have at least 3 days of supplies for your family….water, food, medication, money & coin -(coin is for the phone booths) they'll keep working.

You should have a mask that protects you from the avian flu, one for each family member.

If a quaranteen is ordered they will only be able to protect the City, not the county, it's too big.

I am NOT a doomsdayest, I'm a realist and I am trying to warn all of you. Take care of yourself and your family. I also suggest everyone learn Spanish because that is our future. i hate saying that but that's what this government did to us, they sold us out to the one world global economy, Clinton, and there is no stopping it, they won't break the trade deal with China. This nation was made a pawn in the global economy and the USA paid the price, big time. Our government is nothing but GREED and the love of money.

There is one candidate running for president who has a perfect voting record that aligns with the Constitution, he's known as Dr. NO. He has voted against every tax increase and anything that makes government bigger. Today that is the ONLY way to judge a candidate. The media is going to promote who they want regardless of their track record. Check out Ron Paul. Look at his record and pay close attention to this man. I had never heard of him before until the republican debate. They debate again on June 3 and 5. Everyone needs to listen for themselves.

Rudy and McCain and more of the same. So is Clinton and Obama. I've had enough of this government.

Listen to 99.7 fm on your radio here in Craig. There is a middle eastern voice that comes on about every 5 minutes. It's scary and it's our future.

Buy ammo, it's holding value better than gold. I didn't say guns, I said ammo.

I support our soldiers. The war will not stop with the stroke of a pen. It's just going to keep escallating and get worse. I ask the Lord to protect them every single day.

Maybe I'm just an eternal optimist. Maybe I'm just deluding myself. Whatever the cause, I can't look at the world with the doom and gloom perspective I'm reading in this thread.

No offense intended mom, but you're worrying me with the negative tone of your posts. I can't help but believe that the world has enough good in it to overcome the bad.

I choose not to live worrying about what other people may do to us. It's a sad fact that the US is a target these days, but if you look at the big picture, Europe has been dealing with the same situation far longer than we have. We're just catching up with the rest of the world in that respect.

Bottom line in my mind is that most people in the world are good. A few evil ones try to upset the apple cart and the more attention we give them, the more power they have.

There's never going to be complete peace on earth but I refuse to take a negative outlook because I really do believe in the better side of humanity winning out over the bad ones.

Yes, there is bad stuff going on. This is nothing new to me, anyway. I grew up watching war on television, saw a president killed on television, watched a space shuttle blow up on television, watched more wars on television, watched olympic athletes taken hostage and killed on television, college kids killed in Ohio, US soldiers treated like crap after Viet Nam, and the list goes on and on. Negative stuff makes the news.

I've also seen amazingly good stuff happen during my lifetime. I've seen men walk on the moon, our country declare racism an evil, wars end and POW's come home, medical advances that save people from things that would have killed them 40 years ago, the fall of the Berlin
Wall and the end of the Cold War, well, that list goes on and on as well.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the world has it's problems. I do not believe though, that these solutions to these problems will come through a renewal in racism or out of fear. I believe they'll come in time through the actions of good people who want the world to be a better place.

Just my thoughts on the subject.

Also, I don't watch TV like most, I don't like spin and commentary. I watch CSPAN, the senate and house floor and sub-commiittees. I like it out of the horses mouth. Too many TV newscasters don't tell the truth.

Anyways, native, I've enjoyed your comments for years now. The forum isn't the same.

I am informed if there is anything you want to know.

Our only voice is our vote.

btw, now the toothpaste from china is contaminated. The trade deal with China, seriously, is really grim.

Don't any of you have children or grandchildren?

I only called everyday this past week because of that trade deal. Every American should have cried out on that one.

Perhaps we're in the shape we're in because people do take the position you two do, smell the roses while they're there and the heck with the rest of it.

It's the uninformed non-voted that allows this corrupt government to continue.

Take note, our government works great, it's the people that are running it that aren't working great.

There is so much power in our vote if we'd just do it instead of the same ol, same ol.

Most senators and congressmen who were voted in this last election need to be flipped right back out until Washington gets the message.

I too enjoy the roses but let's stand guard to make sure the roses are still there for our kids or our kids are still around to enjoy them.

    With all respect.

Mom, I stand corrected! You are well-informed, but I totally agree with every word native had to say in his post. Could not have said it better. It seems there is no longer any posting about the “good” things happening in our world. Its all negative and unfortunately I am guilty of contributing and for that I am sorry.

Wanna talk about tuburculosis? Over 1/3 of the population of the world is infected with “drug resistant” form and 10% of them are totally drug resistant.

This is an airborne disease. Our government knows this is a “very serious” problem since we've opened the doors to China and Asia where this stuff breeds without diagnoses.

This form of drug resistant is also on a serious rise.

Airbourne Disease - Gates are open to the world, (food), air terminals full of passengers from many, many countries. 300 passengers sealed in a tube with “recycling air” (airplane). Do the math and get your odds.

The MSM (main stream media) non of them, cable or network, are reporting on what really matters.

How can we all argue and debate with each other if we're all dead?

I challenge and welcome a debate - before you do though, get informed….Google it.

Go to US Dept. of Agriculture site and read about the food contamination…..even baby formula is effected.

We import MOST of all our food from other countries that do NOT have an FDA or a USDA, or any form of oversite. Think about this everytime you eat.

Free trade with “sealed” trade agreements between countries (china) that CANNOT be opened to negotiation.

Big business dollars underminds the Constition of the United States, illegal low wage workers, modern day slavery right under our nose.

Food chain of United States contaminated, yesterday last day to object to new law that allows 15 new items in organic food without being labeled, or being organic for that matter.

Law passed in Senate 2002 to label all meat and fish in this country as to origin, (fish from other countries) this law still not enacted because of “lobbiest”. Sound like anyone cares about YOUR health?

These are just the matter of today. I'm someone who calls and writes senators “daily” so go drink your kool-aid.

Border Patrol Agent Rich Goldstein's death was a line of duty accidental drowning. There was an appropriate amount of news coverage for this type of death.

Agent Goldstein drowned in the Coachella Canal which is in southern California, hundreds of miles from the Rio Grande River. The agent answered a radio call to the area of a disturbance sensor near the canal. His K-9 partner, Carlo was found sitting next to his BP vehicle next to the canal. Carlo was still wet when he was located. The family believes that Rich may have gone into the canal to rescue Carlo although the official investigation by the Imperial County Sheriff's Office has not made that determination at this time. Rich's funeral was Thursday. He was 37 years old and was originally from Buffalo where he had hoped to transfer to. He graduated from academy class #503 about 5 years ago. Next Monday flags will be flown at half mast in Rich's honor at all Department of Homeland Security facilities and some other federal buildings nationwide.

They found a dead border agent in the Rio Grande River three days ago and the media won't cover it.

There was a bomb threat on an Amtrak train Sunday evening 22 miles West of Denver. The train was evacuated, bomb sniffing dogs were brought in, the dogs went right for that mans backpack and then the media shut down. Not another word.

The FBI made a statement yesterday, they called it a “misunderstanding”.

Beware people, the media is being shut down over certain events to keep the fear level down in this country. Doing that doesn't make us any safer.

The gunman at the mall in Utah two months ago, illegal Jordanian terrorist. Bet you haven't heard that yet either.

    Keep you eyes open.

    Just a comment…..

I recently had the chance to take a look at Mexico from El Paso. The obvious differences astounded me. Even from the US side of the border, it was all too obvious how poor and backwards the other side of the river was.

I got a little first-hand eye-opener on just why people risk everything coming her illegally. Even the poorest of our poor seem to live better than most of the people down there, from what I could tell by looking at the buildings and such across the river.

I also got a little surprise when looking into requirements for entry into Mexico. I found it a little odd that if a US citizen enters Mexico by car, they have to show proof of Mexican auto insurance on the way in. US insurance is not recognized in Mexico. There were Mexican insurance agents in El Paso where the insurance had to be purchased. Strange to say the least.

From what I saw, it appears that the border in Mexico is set up to make the most of US tourism, to get US visitors in. Our border seems more to keep Mexican citizens out.

I found that a pretty interesting illustration on the different attitudes between Mexico and the US.

One thing was certain, our Border Patrol was working overtime. It appeared to me that they were out in force everywhere we went near the border.

Not sure where I'm going with this, it was just something I noticed and something to think about.

Is anyone still out there. The forum it about all but dead.

Does anyone care about our open borders because a security risk or am I the only one? This is so not about Hispanics flowing over our borders, and NO ONE, can tell us we're safe, not our government, no one…..because no one knows anymore.

I don't feel safe in this country anymore, it's just a matter of time and considering the terrorism act this week in New Jersey I think it's about time to ask our officials here where Craig stands on the subject.

We have to address all illegals in this town/county, deport the criminal eliment, if any, and people should keep their eyes open.

We need to drafts some local ordinances, i.e., no burkas allowed (total head coverings). Could you imagine working a bank and someone comes in covered. Stuff like that.
