Couples announcements September 17, 2009




The family of Roy and Cora Scott congratulate the couple on their 50th wedding anniversary, which was Aug. 29, 2009.


Pratt and Staudt

James and Patricia Pratt, and Ron and Carlyn Staudt, announce the wedding of their children, Shannon Pratt and Scott Staudt, of Hayden. The couple married Aug. 7, 2009, at Hayden Park. Tim Parish officiated, and a reception followed at the Community Center in Hayden. Bill Ditges was Scott's best man. Shannon's bridesmaids were Abby Ditges and Danica Huddleston; maids of honor were Melisa Lynn, Myra Cox, and Sha Horn. The couple spent their honeymoon in Denver. Shannon graduated from Colorado Northwestern Community College in Rangely and is employed at The Haven in Hayden. Scott graduated from ITT Tech and is employed at Colorado Building Supply. The couple and their families wished to thank their friends and church community for helping them pull together an "absolutely beautiful and memorable wedding."


Perry and Balleck

Michelle Elizabeth Perry and Keith Joseph Balleck, of Craig, exchanged vows during a ceremony June 27, 2009, at Piqua Public Library in Piqua, Ohio. The Rev. Henry Billet, a close friend of the groom, officiated the ceremony. Cocktail hour preceded the ceremony, and a reception followed the ceremony, both upstairs at Fort Piqua Plaza. A second reception followed on July 11, 2009, at the Moffat County Fairgrounds Picnic Shelter. The bride's parents, James and Mary Perry, of Piqua, Ohio, led her down the marble library staircase as the groom's parents, Dennis and Shirley Balleck, of Craig, led their son. The groom's son, Shane Balleck, carried vows, which the couple shared between one another as well as with Shane as the three formed a new family. The bride's niece, Sarah Whalen, of Louisville, Ky., was the flower girl. The bride's nephew, Matthew Whalen, also of Louisville, carried the rings. Kyle Balleck, of Craig, the groom's twin brother, and Diana Perry, of Muncie, Ind., the bride's sister, served as the witnesses of the ceremony. The couple also asked that their immediate families stand at the front of the ceremony to share with them and support them as they became wed. The groom's family also includes Levi, Neisha and Ryan Balleck, of Aurora; Cammi Montieth, of Craig; and Brandon and Stone Balleck and Sheena Halcomb, of Craig. The bride's family includes Richard, Theresa and Ryan Whalen, of Louisville, Ky.; Mike Gibson and Elliott Perry-Gibson, of Muncie, Ind.; and Wayne, Melissa and Ruth Grace Perry, of Covington, Ohio. The couple also remembered the bride's late brother, Mark Edward Perry, and their grandparents in their wedding programs and in their thoughts. The bride's bouquet of pink ranunculus, white scabiosa and white roses was wrapped with a handkerchief of her paternal grandmother's and adorned with a brooch of each of her grandmothers. Her maternal grandparents are the late Joseph and Antonia Gudas. Her paternal grandparents are Mary Jane Perry, of Winamac, Ind., and the late Lawrence Perry. The groom's maternal grandparents are Lex and Goldie Burton, of Craig. His paternal grandparents are the late Joseph and Marian Balleck. The bride is a 2000 Sidney High School graduate and 2004 Indiana University graduate. She is employed as the executive director of Moffat County Tourism Association. The groom is a 1997 Moffat County High School graduate. He is employed as a senior construction operator at Atmos Energy in Craig.
