Couples announcements for July 2008



Schiffbauer and Larson

Martin and Robin Schiffbauer of Craig announce the engagement of their daughter, Andrea Marie Schiffbauer, to Christopher Charles Larson, son of Larry and Chrystalla Larson of Littleton. A spring 2009 wedding is planned at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Denver. Andrea and Chris graduated with their bachelor's degrees June 7. Andrea majored in history with two minors in philosophy and Italian. Chris received his Bachelor of Science degree with emphases on real estate and construction management. The couple plans to reside in the Denver area. Chris is working for the family business. Andrea will be working and continuing her education.


Ure and Estey

Mr. and Mrs. Brett Ure of Huntsville, Utah announce the engagement of their daughter Britney Ure, to Jerod Estey, son of Wayne and Terri Estey of Craig. Britney is a 2003 graduate from Weber High School in North Ogden, Utah and a 2008 graduate of Mesa State College with dual bachelor's degrees in marketing and management. Jerod is a 2003 graduate from Moffat County High School and a 2008 graduate of Mesa State College with a bachelor's degree in computer information systems. The couple will wed Aug. 23, 2008 at Snowbasin Resort in Huntsville, Utah, followed by a honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii.


Linsacum and Schneider

Ron and Jnl Linsacum of Craig announce the engagement of their son, Travis Lee Linsacum, to Sara Christine Schneider, daughter of David and Debbie Allen of Baggs, Wyo. The couple will wed Aug. 30 at the Yampa River Botanic Park in Steamboat in a ceremony presided over by Paul Prestrud. Travis's brother, Ryan, will serve as his best man and Sara's sister, Samantha Wilson, will be her maid of honor. The reception will take place at Moffat County Fairgrounds Pavilion. The couple currently resides in Craig. Travis graduated from Lassen Community College of Susanville, Calif,. in 2002 and works for Robinson Construction of Hayden. Sara graduated from Chadron State College of Chadron, Neb. in May and will begin working as a kindergarten teacher at Sunset Elementary in the fall.


Barainca and Huffaker

Torie and Phyllis Barainca of Craig announce the engagement of their son, Jim Barainca, to Shalene Huffaker, daughter of Steven and Candice Huffaker of Mesa, Ariz. The couple will wed July 9, 2008, at the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple. Travis graduated from Moffat County High School in 1999. The couple will reside in Mesa, Ariz.


Ottens and Counts

The children of Wesley and Beverly Counts will host an old-fashioned ice cream social to celebrate their parents' 50th anniversary. The family invites everyone to honor the couple's commitment to marriage with them from 2:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the picnic area of the Moffat County Fairgrounds. No gifts are required. Wesley Counts and Beverly Ottens were married July 12, 1958 in Grand Junction. Wesley is a longtime wheat farmer and Beverly worked with Moffat County social services for 33 years. Their children include Debbie Counts VanHoorelbeke (deceased), Rhonda Counts Willingham, Linda Counts Duncan and Wayne Counts. They also have five grandchildren.


Gaines and Ward

Charles and Judy Hutchison, of Craig, announce the marriage of their daughter, Susan Gaines, to Michael Ward, son of Joyce Cole and Alvin Ward, of Springfield, Mo. The couple wed June 7 in Springfield in a ceremony officiated by Victor Ward, Michael's uncle. Michael's sister, Tricia Yim, served as Susan's matron of honor, and his brother, Steven, was his best man. Susan's son, Shawn Gaines, was the ring bearer, and her granddaughter, Danika Tate, was the flower girl. The bride was escorted by her father and given away by her parents. The couple honeymooned in Springfield and Branson, Mo. They currently reside in Springfield.


Sewell and Leyh

Kelly and Karen Sewell, of Grand Junction, announce the engagement of their son, Brian, to Cassie Leyh, daughter of John and Karan Leyh, of Eagle. Brian attended the University of Wyoming and is employed at Castle Peak Ranch in Eagle. Cassie received a graduate jeweler gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of America and works at Betteridge Jewelers in Vail. Both currently live in Eagle and will marry there in August.


Coulter and Behringer

Brian and Chris Coulter, and Richard Behringer and Nancy Miles, announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their children, Amy Coulter and Alex Behringer. The wedding is scheduled for Aug. 8 at Calvary Baptist Church. The couple plan to reside in Craig after the wedding.


Harbison and Bergstrom

Steven and Kathleen Harbison, along with Kenneth Bergstrom, announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their children, Stephanie Harbison and Zachariah Bergstrom. Stephanie is a graduate of Colorado State University with a bachelor's degree in political science. She is a probation officer in the 14th Judicial District. Zachariah is a member of the Pipefitter/Plumber Union Local No. 145. He is employed with DC Power Industrial. An August wedding is planned in Saratoga, Wyo.
